Wamuchomba, Koimburi, Sabina Chege Attend UDA National Governing Council Meeting

Several senior political leaders on Tuesday attended the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party National Governing Council (NGC) meeting held at State House, Nairobi City County.

Among those present were Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba and Juja MP George Koimburi.

Others in attendance included National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah and former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo’s ally Leo Wamuthende, among other party officials and legislators.

Gathoni and Koimburi have been close allies of former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua before falling out.

The high-level forum, hosted by President William Ruto and attended by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, comes as the ruling party seeks to strengthen its internal structures and consolidate grassroots support ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Party leaders used the meeting to deliberate on party unity, mobilisation strategies, and the alignment of UDA’s political machinery with the Kenya Kwanza administration’s development agenda.

The National Governing Council is UDA’s top decision-making organ between party conferences, with its resolutions expected to shape the party’s political direction in the run-up to the next polls.
