Kiambu governor James Nyoro earlier today officiated the groundbreaking for the construction of Kiganjo Market in Gatundu South.
The market which is the second biggest in the Sub-County after Gatundu Market, serves over 2500 customers during the market days on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The Sh 24 million market which will be completed by March next year, is one of the ongoing market projects undertaken by my administration. Others that are ongoing or in the pipeline include Gatukuyu, Kigumo in Githunguri, Soko Mjinga and Gitaru.
Market traders are a big contributor to the economy both at county and national level. A conducive environment for business is vital for economic transformation. Also present was the Deputy Governor H.E. Joyce Ngugi, area MCAs, representatives from the national government and county officials.
