Machakos Governor aspirant Nzioka Waita has urged Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to drop his hardliner zoning stance on the Azimio la Umoja running mate position.

Nzioka Waita warned Kalonzo on the dangers of promoting an ideology that would isolate the Kamba people or even worse lead them into the arms of the opposition.”

Waita’s statement comes shortly after Kalonzo adamantly pushed to be named Raila Odinga’s running mate in the Azimio la Umoja coalition.Kalonzo and his allies have intensified calls to have Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga name him as running mate.Makueni Senator, Mutula Kilonzo Jr, was the first to start the demand for the seat, asserting that the deputy president in the Azimio camp must come from Wiper.

Kalonzo has been quoted as saying he would approach discussions around coalition building as a tough negotiator, and that he would not budge.

He said Kalonzo’s push for Machakos to be a Wiper-only county has precipitated his isolation by leaders from the region.Nzioka said time is rife for Kalonzo to evaluate his ideologies and figure out why this is the case before the entire Kamba nation is also isolated.

Duale's message to Kalonzo after father's death

“I respect Kalonzo Musyoka deeply and he knows it, but we must look back and ask why did Musila, Muthama, Ngilu, Kibwana, and Mutua all walk away, could they all be wrong?”In a series of tweets on Monday, Nzioka claimed that the late former Kamba kingpin, Mulu Mutisya, led Kalonzo to Kabarak in Nakuru where he was anointed the leader of the Kamba nation by the late former President Daniel Moi.

He said in doing this, Mutisya hoped that the Wiper leader would unite the Kamba nation and bring prosperity to its people.”Instead, he is overseeing the systematic destruction of Kamba Unity… Mulu Mutisya is turning in his grave, his people are at the precipice, staring at complete isolation,” Nzioka said.

Nzioka, who is eyeing the Machakos governor seat on the Chama cha Uzalendo ticket, advised the Wiper leader to tread carefully.

“I urge Kalonzo to stop his demands to zone Machakos if he is so confident about his candidate,” Nzioka said.”Let the people decide, do not rob them of their future. They will never forgive you,” he added.
