Alliance High School has been closed indefinitely after a fire broke out in a dormitory mattress store early Thursday morning, prompting the administration to send students home as a precautionary measure.

According to Principal David Chomba, the fire started at around 4 a.m. but was quickly contained before it could spread to other buildings within the school compound.
“No student was harmed, and students are continuing with their normal learning activities,” Chomba said, assuring parents and stakeholders that the situation had been brought under control.
School management later announced the indefinite closure of the institution as authorities assess the extent of the damage and investigate the cause of the fire.
The incident has once again highlighted concerns over fire safety in learning institutions, although no injuries or fatalities were reported in this case.
Authorities are expected to conduct further investigations before the school can resume normal operations.
