Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested Bare Sahara Ahmed in connection with remarks made in a viral video circulating on social media, which authorities say are inciteful and could undermine national cohesion.

The arrest follows a swift review of the footage, with investigators working to establish the full context and intent behind the statements captured in the clip.

Ahmed is currently in lawful custody and is being processed ahead of arraignment in court.

The DCI has reminded the public that while freedom of expression is protected under the Constitution, it must be exercised responsibly and within the law. The agency warned that any statements likely to incite division, hatred, or disrupt peaceful coexistence will be dealt with firmly.
