Details of Gachagua-Wanjigi Wamunyoro Meeting Revealed

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Tuesday hosted businessman and politician Jimi Wanjigi at his Wamunyoro residence for consultations on the country’s political future as preparations for the 2027 General Election gather momentum.

According to Gachagua, the meeting focused on what he described as the country’s “liberation cause” and the formation of the “6th Administration,” saying the process requires broad consultations with leaders from different sectors.

“The liberation cause of our Country and the formation of the 6th Administration is so critical that we must get views from all,” Gachagua said after the meeting.

He said Wanjigi’s experience in the formation of governments provided valuable insights into the ongoing consultations, adding that he had greatly benefited from the discussions.

While neither Gachagua nor Wanjigi disclosed any political agreements or coalition plans, the meeting is the latest in a series of engagements the former Deputy President has held with political leaders, former legislators and other influential figures at his Wamunyoro residence.

The consultations come amid growing political realignments as opposition leaders seek to build alliances ahead of the 2027 polls. Gachagua has repeatedly maintained that the engagements are aimed at gathering diverse views on governance, national unity and the country’s future.

He said the consultations will continue as efforts to shape a broad-based political movement ahead of the next general election intensify.
