Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has continued his political consultations ahead of the 2027 General Election after hosting a delegation of former Members of Parliament at his Wamunyoro residence.
The delegation comprised former Kirinyaga Central MP Munene Wambugu, former Mwea MP Kabinga Wathayu, former Kiambu Town MP Jude Njomo, former Mukurweini MP Anthony Kiai, former Tetu MP Gichuhi Mwangi and former Kieni MP and East African Legislative Assembly member Kanini Kega.
According to Gachagua, the meeting was part of ongoing consultations on the country’s future and focused on issues affecting Kenyans as political realignments continue to gather momentum.
“We discussed a raft of matters concerning the 55 million Kenyans and the future of our beloved Country,” Gachagua said.
He added that the discussions underscored the need for leaders to prioritize the common good over personal interests, saying the country’s progress depends on decisions that benefit all citizens.
The meeting is the latest in a series of consultations Gachagua has been holding with political leaders, former elected officials and other stakeholders as he seeks to build a broader political alliance ahead of the next general election. While no specific resolutions were announced, the engagements are widely viewed as part of efforts to shape the opposition’s strategy and forge a united front for 2027.
Gachagua maintained that the consultations will continue as he engages more leaders on the country’s political and economic future.
