The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has reaffirmed its commitment to international cooperation in the fight against corruption following a high-level meeting with a delegation from the People’s Republic of China led by H.E. Mr. Wang Xingning, Director General of the Shaanxi Provincial Supervisory Commission.

The discussions, held in Nairobi, brought together leaders from both institutions to exchange experiences, share best practices and explore new areas of collaboration aimed at promoting integrity, transparency and accountability in public service.

Speaking during the meeting, EACC Chairperson Dr. David Oginde said the Commission is keen on learning from China’s experience in preventing and combating corruption, noting that global partnerships play a crucial role in strengthening anti-corruption initiatives.

“Corruption is a global challenge that requires collective action, continuous learning and strong partnerships. By sharing knowledge and best practices, we can build stronger institutions and enhance our capacity to safeguard public resources,” said Dr. Oginde.

On his part, H.E. Mr. Wang Xingning observed that corruption continues to evolve, with perpetrators constantly adapting to new environments and systems.

He emphasized the need for anti-corruption agencies to remain innovative and responsive to emerging challenges.

EACC Chief Executive Officer Mr. Abdi Mohamud reiterated the Commission’s readiness to deepen cooperation with the Shaanxi Provincial Supervisory Commission through research, training programmes and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

The engagement underscored the growing importance of international collaboration in combating corruption and reaffirmed the shared commitment of Kenya and China to advancing integrity, accountability and transparency.
