KEWOPA Applauds President Ruto’s Appointment of Hannah Wendot Cheptumo as Gender CS

The Kenya Women Parliamentarians (KEWOPA), led by National Chairperson Leah Sankaire, has welcomed President William Ruto’s appointment of Hannah Wendot Cheptumo as the Cabinet Secretary for Gender.

Chairperson Sankaire emphasized that the appointment fills a crucial leadership gap, ensuring progress in gender protection and empowerment policies.

“This role is vital, especially now. The absence of leadership had left key gender issues unaddressed. We welcome CS Cheptumo’s appointment and assure her of our unwavering support,” she stated.

KEWOPA reaffirmed its commitment to working with the new CS to advance gender equality and strengthen policies that protect and empower women across the country
