Maina Wakabura: My Political Journey Is Driven by Conviction

Nakuru Town East parliamentary aspirant Maina Wakabura has vowed to remain focused on his political ambitions despite criticism as he continues to position himself ahead of the 2027 General Election.

In a message shared on social media, Wakabura said his political journey was anchored on conviction, service and his commitment to residents of Nakuru Town East, insisting that criticism would not derail his plans.

“When you have no power to stop the journey, the easiest thing is to mock the destination,” Wakabura said.

He said he would continue listening to residents and engaging with the community at the grassroots, despite what he described as noise and speculation surrounding his political ambitions.

“My political quest is not built on noise, intimidation or the approval of a few. It is built on conviction, service and a genuine commitment to the people of Nakuru Town East,” he said.

Wakabura said his focus remained on building what he believes is a better future for the constituency, urging his supporters to remain committed to the political journey.

“Let the doubters talk. Let the critics speculate. We will keep listening to the people, working on the ground and building the future we believe our community deserves,” he added.

The businessman and politician is among those positioning themselves to contest the Nakuru Town East parliamentary seat in 2027. Current MP David Gikaria has expressed interest in the Nakuru Senate seat, setting the stage for a contest to succeed him. Recent reporting has identified Wakabura among the aspirants seeking the seat.

Wakabura has also been engaging residents through community events and grassroots activities as he builds his political profile in the constituency. In March, he told residents that voters should consider candidates based on their track record, integrity and understanding of local challenges.
