Popular Mugithi musician Simon Kihara popularly known as Musaimo wa Njeri has set record straight claims he was in love with late benga songstress Queen Jane.

Before Queen Jane passed away in 2010, claims were rife that she had a thing with Musaimo.

But speaking on a local Youtube programme, Musaimo denied the purported affair though he was the one who introduced Jane and her sister Lady Wanja to music industry.

Jane started her music journey in 1984 by being a back-up vocalist for Mbiri Young Stars which belongs to Musaimo.

Her two siblings; Ejidiah Wanja aka Lady Wanja and Agnes Wangui alias Princess Aggie are also in music career.

The niece of late Cabinet Minister John Michuki did the hit song “Queen Ya Musaimo” that fueled the claims the two were lovers.

“Our case was like if you work in a certain company people refer to you with that place. They referred jane to my band” Musaimo said.

Adding; “When she did the song Queen ya Musaimo that gave her the big name, people started talking about an affair”.
