Police officers in Kwale County have stepped up operations targeting the possession and distribution of narcotic drugs in a renewed effort to protect communities from the harmful effects of substance abuse.
In a recent intelligence-led operation carried out in Msambweni Sub-County, officers from Diani Police Station raided Mwakipeku Village in Kinondo Ward, where they recovered 1,858 rolls of cannabis sativa.

One suspect was arrested during the raid and is currently in police custody awaiting processing and arraignment in court. The recovered narcotics have since been secured as exhibits.
Authorities say the operation is part of a broader crackdown by the National Police Service aimed at dismantling drug networks and curbing the spread of illegal substances.
The police have reiterated their commitment to tackling drug trafficking and abuse, warning that such activities continue to pose a serious threat to public safety and the wellbeing of communities.
