Ruto’s Finland Visit Opens New Chapter in Kenya–Nordic Relations

Kenya and Finland have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations as President William Ruto embarked on a State Visit to Finland at the invitation of Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi said the visit marks another significant milestone in Kenya’s growing engagement with the Nordic region and presents an opportunity to deepen cooperation in key sectors critical to economic growth and sustainable development.

Speaking at the start of engagements in Helsinki, Mudavadi noted that Kenya and Finland enjoy a longstanding friendship founded on mutual respect, shared values and a common commitment to advancing sustainable development goals.

The discussions are expected to focus on expanding partnerships in trade, investment, innovation, education, clean energy, technology and digital transformation, areas that both countries consider vital for future growth and competitiveness.
