Safaricom Sponsors Festival of Friendship With KSh1 Million

Safaricom PLC has sponsored the upcoming Festival of Friendship in Nairobi with a KSh1 million contribution towards the community sports and cultural event.

Safaricom Head of Consumer Business Aliya Khanbhai handed over the KSh1 million sponsorship cheque to Festival of Friendship Co-Chair Champe Varsani, as the telecommunications company reaffirmed its support for initiatives that promote community engagement, culture and talent.

The Festival of Friendship is scheduled to take place in Nairobi from November 12 to December 12, 2026, bringing together communities through sports and cultural activities.

Safaricom said its support for the festival reflects its commitment to initiatives that bring people together while creating platforms for talent development and positive social impact.

The company said community-focused initiatives such as the festival play a role in strengthening social connections by providing opportunities for people to participate in sports, celebrate culture and showcase their talents.

The sponsorship adds to Safaricom’s wider involvement in community and sporting initiatives across the country. The company has previously supported sports programmes aimed at creating opportunities for young people and developing grassroots talent.
