Mombasa County Executive Committee Member (CECM) in charge climate change Emily Achieng Okello said the county government is delighted to host a cruise ship with over 600 students on board.
She announced the cruise ship will be at the port city for the next six days.
“We have designated areas the students are expected to tour during their stay at coastal city,” she said.
Emily said the port city has a rich Swahili culture that the students will explore.
She was addressing the media during the reception of MV Odyssey cruise ship which has docked at the modern, state-of-the-art cruise terminal along berth number one.
The County Executive Committee Member (CECM) told journalists the port city has a history they love to share with the rest of the world.
Emily said she is optimistic their stay will open their minds to exploring their knowledge.
She pointed out not only the port city but also to the entire country at large.
