Former Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has unveiled an ambitious political strategy aimed at securing all 39 elective positions in Nyeri County for the Jubilee Party (Kenya) in the 2027 General Election.

Taking on social media, Wambugu emphasized the party’s goal to dominate every level of county leadership.

“In Nyeri County we have 30 elective MCA positions; 7 MP positions (including WR). 1 Senator & 1 Governor. In 2027 I personally intend to ensure that all these 39 positions are taken by Jubilee candidates. ” he stated.

The former MP said he will continue pushing for the interests of the party in the region.

“I am from Mt Kenya & my politics is local. My fight for Jubilee’s space in our region is also local & bila apologies. And at our level there is nothing like Govt, or United Opposition or Alternative Govt. Hapa kila mtu anatafuta kiti yake,”the former MP said in a statement.

The MP had formally written to Uhuru Kenyatta last week seeking clarification on the direction of the Jubilee Party ahead of the 2027 General Election.

In the letter addressed to the former President in his capacity as Party Leader, Wambugu raises concerns over what he describes as growing confusion and dissatisfaction among party members and aspirants across the country.

“It is critical for aspirants and grassroots organizers to know whether there have been negotiated arrangements with other parties to avoid investing time and resources in areas already ceded,” he noted in the letter.

The former legislator questions the apparent absence of strong Jubilee Party branding during recent  political engagements, arguing that the lack of visible merchandise such as branded T-shirts and caps has created perceptions that the party may either be facing internal challenges or informally ceding certain regions to other political formations.
