Security agencies have intensified efforts to combat banditry and cattle rustling in parts of Laikipia County, successfully recovering stolen livestock in a recent operation in Mukogodo.
The multi-agency security team was deployed to the Almororo area with the aim of flushing out suspected bandits and retrieving stolen animals. During the operation, officers recovered 115 head of cattle in the Seketoi Valley, which are believed to have been taken by the criminals.

While escorting the livestock to safety, the officers came under ambush from suspected bandits, triggering a fierce exchange of gunfire. Despite the attack, the security team held their ground and managed to overpower the assailants, preventing the loss of the recovered animals.
The livestock are currently under tight security as arrangements are made to return them to their rightful owners.
Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to restoring security in the region, noting that operations against banditry will continue until criminal networks are dismantled.
The National Police Service has commended the officers involved for their bravery and reiterated its resolve to protect lives and property across the country.
