Former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth has been appointed patron of the Old Staherean Society, a caucus that comprises former students of Starehe Boys Centre high school.
The appointment announced last weekend is in recognition of his contribution to the development and growth of the society that keeps the alumni of the school together through various community works and contribution to society.
“Yes, I was appointed a Patron of the Old Boys Association that brings together the alumni of the great school,” Kenneth said yesterday.
The former Planning and National Development Assistant Minister, an alumnus of the school has been in the forefront of supporting the society and has been involved in strengthening it.
“We had a meeting at the weekend and it was decided to make Kenneth (Peter) patron of the Old Boys and alumni of the prestigious association we are all proud of. He has shown exemplary qualities and guidance to it and is such an honour that we bestow the Patron duties to him.”
“He has a good network of friends that has in the past come in handy to keep us together and we believe he is the right man to offer the continuity and stability that we need,” said an alumnus.
The society was founded in 1970 with the mandate to bring together former students to seek for resources for Starehe Boys’ Centre.
