Police have intensified efforts to track down a suspected criminal gang believed to be behind a series of offences, including drink-lacing, robbery and murder.
According to investigators, the suspects allegedly target unsuspecting members of the public by lacing their drinks with intoxicating substances before robbing them. Detectives are now working to determine whether several incidents reported across different areas are linked to the same criminal network.
The alleged crimes have raised concern among residents and patrons of entertainment venues, prompting authorities to urge the public to remain vigilant. Police have advised people to avoid accepting drinks from strangers, never leave beverages unattended, and report any suspicious activity immediately.
“We are pursuing the suspects, and investigations are ongoing. Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and provide any information that may assist officers in bringing those responsible to justice,” police said.
Investigators are also examining possible links between the reported drink-lacing incidents and more serious offences, including violent robberies and murders. The investigation is expected to rely on witness statements, CCTV footage, forensic evidence and other intelligence to identify and apprehend those responsible.
Authorities noted that the impact of such crimes extends beyond the loss of property, with many victims left traumatised while their families bear the emotional and financial burden of the incidents.
