Police in Nairobi have intensified operations targeting the trafficking and distribution of illegal drugs as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard public safety and combat the growing problem of substance abuse within communities.
The latest operation was carried out following information provided by members of the public, prompting officers from Kabete Police Station to conduct a raid on a kiosk located in Dagoretti Sub-County. The premises had reportedly been under suspicion for being used as a point for the sale and distribution of narcotic substances within the area.

According to police, officers moved swiftly to the location where they found the suspect operating the kiosk. A search was subsequently conducted at the premises, leading to the recovery of several items believed to be connected to the illegal drug trade.
Among the exhibits recovered during the operation were 212 rolls of bhang and 23 pellets suspected to be cannabis sativa. Officers also recovered an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be proceeds from the sale of the narcotics. Police said the items were carefully documented and secured as exhibits to aid in ongoing investigations.
The suspect was immediately arrested and taken into custody as investigations continue. Authorities indicated that the individual is expected to be arraigned in court once the necessary processing and documentation are completed.
Police noted that the successful raid was made possible through cooperation between residents and law enforcement officers, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in the fight against crime and drug abuse.
Security agencies have reiterated their commitment to sustaining operations aimed at dismantling drug distribution networks across Nairobi and other parts of the country. They have also urged members of the public to continue sharing information that may help authorities identify and apprehend individuals involved in the trafficking and sale of illegal substances.
