Two suspected drug traffickers have been arrested in Kilifi County following an intelligence-led operation that resulted in the recovery of a large quantity of cannabis and other items believed to be linked to illegal drug distribution.

According to police, officers conducted a targeted raid in the Sakina area after receiving credible intelligence about suspected drug trafficking activities. The operation led to the arrest of two suspects believed to be involved in the sale and distribution of cannabis.
During the raid, officers recovered two half-sacks of cannabis sativa (commonly known as bhang), cannabis seeds, several packages of the drug that were reportedly ready for distribution, a digital weighing scale, a hammer, and cash suspected to be proceeds from the illegal trade. The recovered items have been seized as exhibits to aid ongoing investigations.
The two suspects are currently being held in police custody as detectives continue with investigations before they are arraigned in court.
The operation forms part of the ongoing crackdown by the National Police Service (NPS) on narcotics and psychotropic substances across the country. Police say they remain committed to dismantling drug trafficking networks and protecting communities from the harmful effects of illicit drugs.
Authorities have also appealed to members of the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies by reporting any information that could help combat the illegal drug trade and enhance public safety.
