A Third Year student at Rongo University taking Bachelors’s in Education (Maths/Chem) has committed suicide. South Kamagambo Chief Joseph Nyamanga has confirmed the incident.
Collins Kipkirui 23, committed suicide by hanging himself using a rope tied to a tree just next to their hostel (White house hostel).

According to some of his close friends, they have said that Collins might have committed suicide due to depression. Sammy said, “He did not have the money to pay the fees and hence the depression.”
Many University students have committed suicide due to mental issues and depression. The Government will have to look for ways to help the students who have depression to undergo Guiding and Counseling sessions. This will help curb the rising number of suicides in our universities.
