The sister in-law of former minister Fred Gumo was last evening kidnapped together with her driver while entering Gumo’s home on Karura Avenue in the affluent Muthaiga estate in Nairobi.
Confirming the incident, Gumo said he was from Parklands heading home when he saw her car on the road.
“I was coming from Parklands when I noticed a vehicle on the road.
I wondered what was happening. I have tried to reach her on the phone but it is off. “The three kidnappers were in a white double cabin pick-up.
They blocked my sister in law’s car and dragged her out with her driver, put them in their car and drove off. I have no idea who the kidnappers are,” Gumo told the press.
Jacinta Bwire, 60, the victim of the ordeal, had retired from the City Council where she worked in the water department.
She was coming from a shopping centre when she was kidnapped.
