Kabogo announces bid to vie for Nairobi senate seat 2022

The race to replace Johnstone Sakaja who has declared interest for governor seat 2022 is gaining momentum as candidates start announcing their candidature.

 In the 2017 General Election, Johnstone Sakaja emerged as the winner replacing Mike Mbuvi Sonko who successfully opted to contest for the gubernatorial seat in the same election.

 Among those expected to vie for the seat includes, ODM Secretary-general Edwin Sifuna, Julie Kabogo, Fredrick Otieno, Sylvia Kasanga among others.

 Among the above, it’s only Kabogo and Sifuna who have declared their party.

 According to a reliable source who has spoken to the writer Julie Kabogo who word on the street claim is distant relative to former Kiambu governor William Kabogo will vie using Chama cha, Kazi.

 “Kabogo has opted to vie using Chama Cha Kazi allied to Moses Kuria but not Wakenya Tujibebe Party, “he said.

 Taking to her Facebook page, Kabogo expressed confidence with the party nomination 2022.

 She said that Chama Cha Kazi is the only party that committed that their nominations for MCAs, MPs, Women Reps, Senators, Governors and President will be conducted electronically via USSD mobile technology and the results streamed real-time and online throughout the country.

 Attempt to contact her wasn’t successful as the phone call wasn’t answered.

 Chama Cha Kazi is allied to Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who is expected to vie for Kiambu gubernatorial seat.

 Already, Kuria who is receiving treatment in India has announced that he won’t defend his Gatundu South seat.
