United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Jubilee Party renewed their rivalry during the Isiolo South parliamentary by election.
A total of 22,161 voters were expected to participate in the by election to elect their new lawmaker to replace the late Tubi Bidu.
The by election comes less than 18 months to the 2027 general election.
The seat had initially attracted three candidates but the race was reduced into a battle between a brother and sister.
UDA candidate Mohamed Tubi runs against his sister Bina Tubi on a Jubilee Party ticket.
The constituency has 61 polling stations with a low turn out recorded in most of the polling stations.
National Economic Development Party (NEDP) candidate Isack Abduba Fayo has withdrew from the race to throw his weight behind the UDA candidate after a State House meeting.
The deceased is a biological parent to the two candidates who are facing each other in the by election to succeed their late father.
