Mbeere North UDA candidate Leonard Wamuthende has expressed confidence of victory as residents cast their ballots in Tuesday’s by-election, even as he affirmed his readiness to accept any outcome announced by the electoral commission.

Speaking earlier in the day, Wamuthende urged his supporters to turn out in large numbers, vote early, and then return home peacefully to await the official results.
“I am prepared for any outcome, but I am confident the people of Mbeere North will give us the win. I urge all our supporters to vote and then go back home as we wait for the results,” he said, calling for calm and order throughout the exercise.

The UDA candidate further appealed for a peaceful poll, cautioning that elections should never divide the community or fuel hostility among residents.
