KDF ilisema kwamba kikundi hicho kilikuwa kikifanya kazi chini ya Operesheni Amani Boni wakati wa doria ya kawaida kati ya Milimani na Baure katika Kaunti ya Lamu walipokutana na shambulio la IED lililopangwa na watu wanaoshukiwa kuwa magaidi wa al-Shabaab.

Msemaji Kanali Esther Wanjiku alisema KDF itaendelea kushirikiana na mashirika mengine katika kudumisha shughuli katika eneo la Boni.
